Community Projects - AEDU Batticaloa
Due to the generous donations received in the UK, AEDU UK were able to support AEDU Batticaloa with several community projects in Batticaloa. These included setting up a local grocery shop, a clay pot business and a coconut oil extraction business. These projects will help local people to become self sufficient to support their families, whilst also providing essential goods and services to the community and helping the local economy.
Thanks to the initiative and commitment of Miss Suthahari Manivannan (AEDU Batticaloa), these projects have been successful in reaching their objectives in a rather short space of time.
Following the success of these projects and the return of a proportion of start up funds, we are planning to support 5 community projects in each AEDU district. Each project will receive seed funding of up to Rs.100,000.
