Nuwara Eliya

The Nuwara Eliya district of AEDUUK, established in 2022, holds a special place in the organization's history as it coincides with the 200th anniversary of the upcountry Tamil community's residency in the region.

Committed to the fundamental right of education for all, this district represents AEDUUK's expansion into the Central Highlands. Since its inception, AEDU Nuwara Eliya has provided support to 75 students, making a significant impact on their educational journeys. This milestone reflects AEDUUK's mission to empower students from diverse backgrounds, offering them the opportunity for a brighter future through education. The annual general meeting held in Kottagala in February 2023 was a celebratory moment, signaling the enthusiastic commitment of a new committee composed of members dedicated to the cause. AEDU Nuwara Eliya stands as a beacon of hope for upcountry Tamils, offering them the promise of a better tomorrow.
